Well here I am trying to put a finished "look" on the blog and it's not going so well. If I were a writer I would say I have writers block..... Then I ran across John 17:1-(see above).
You see the purpose of this blog has been to share information, spread the word and communicate upcoming events (ministries) such as those to the right and others not yet posted for the summer. That's all good and well....
But I want more and I believe you do to. We can not be OK with successful events or nice web pages or great exposure or all the fun a person can ask for. All of these things are good.... but there needs to be more.
In the middle of teaching His disciples Jesus paused, looked toward heaven and prayed- He prayed that the time has come for God to glorify Himself- through Jesus.
Jesus Prayed. Often Jesus would pause to pray or even "sneak" off to be alone and pray. Before we rush headfirst into the many opportunities to minister this summer- let us pray for God to glorify Himself and do extraordinary things we can not do ourselves.
Pray for God to reveal Himself; through His people-us- and our love for one another, through His love for the lost (He loves them through us), through our generosity toward others, through our interest in people, through our devotion to Christ.
With God before us these will not be summer programs, rather they will be opportunities for lives to be changed forever!!
Let us all hunger and pray for the presence of God- Together

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also to the interest of others (Philippians 2:3-4)

During the next week I will be making a number of changes to the blog to better reflect our summer ministries here at GLCC. The blog "should" stay fully functional throughout this time so feel free to leave a comment, browse the calendar- and register for VBS. More to come
